Detailed Instructions

  1. Open A2LG
  2. Verify that the domain in which the required computer objects exists is specified in the ‘Domain Group’. Note that the process will enumerate the accounts, ping each one of them and process every computer that replied to the ping.
  3. Type a local group name in the ‘Local Group’ text box. The process will bind to the group specified in this box in order to add members to it. If the group does not exist on the target computer, an appropriate message will appear in the log and on screen. You can specify a domain name in which the group account exists. i.e ‘mydomain'group1’. If you omit the domain name, the domain specified in the ‘Domain’ text box will be used.
  4. Type a group or user name in the ‘User/Group’ text box. The specified account will be added to the local group specified in the ‘Local Group’ text box.
  5. Click ‘GO’

The process will take a fair amount of time, depending on the number of computers in your domain, and the overall speed and load of your network.

The result can be seen in the Local Administrators group via the Local Users and Groups snap-in on the member servers and workstations, and in the Administrators group on the domain's DCs:
