How can I create Local users in Windows XP? How can I open the Local Users applet (from Control Panel) in Windows XP?

Petri Recommends: Install Windows 7 Drivers Automatically

After installing Windows 7, it's important to install the correct hardware drivers to get your video, sound, network, and other components working properly.

Automate the update process with Driver Genius Professional.

To control local users and some of their settings from a Windows XP Pro machine you can use the LUSRMGR.MSC MMC Snap-in (run lusrmgr.msc from the Run command).

Alternatively, you can use the User Accounts applet in Control Panel.

To open only the User Accounts applet without going to Control Panel, open the Run command and type

control userpasswords2

Press Ok.

This applet (along with the LUSRMGR.MSC MMC Snap-in) should only be used for local user administration. Also, note that these apps are not agailable in Windows XP Home Edition.
