Windows XP can drive you nuts with the idiotic Passport reminder balloon.

You can do what it wants you to do - register with MSN, or, if you don't want to, you can easily disable it:

  1. Start Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).

  2. Locate the following key in the registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MessengerService

  1. On the Edit menu, click Add Value, and then add the following registry value:

Value Name: PassportBalloon Value Type: REG_BINARY Data: 0a (hexadecimal)

Note: 0a as in "zero a" not "oh a"...

  1. Close the registry editor.
