Sharing folder on user account or moving emails

I been trying to share a folder and subfolder from one of the users in a company

The server is a SBS 2003 server , the workstations are using office 2007

The company worked in a large project, for legal matters all emails related to that project need to be saved and need to be access by several users regarless of who received the email, how do I share all those emails so that everyone can view them when need it?

This is what I was trying to do for each user

I was able to share the folder and subfolder in one of the user who has emails that need to be share
Since we are not sharing the default folder I had to go in ot the exchange account properties and add an inbox to each of the users that will be accesing that share folder

Here is my situation

the first user I setup to access the share folder work OK, all folder can be seen and access but after that all other users I tried to setup will not see the folders. So I stop doing any sharing and here I am

Can this be fix some how? is there another way to share the folder or copy the emails to a netwrok folder for everyone to access

Or does anyone has a more efficient way to have all this emails store and shared

Exchange 2003 does not find local users

Greetings to all.

I'm editing the configuration of an Exchange 2003, but I have problems in mail delivery.

My server has mbox associated with AD users, but download the mail from an external provider using ExchangePop3. Mail shipment is direct.

Today, the public domain is changed from alfa.com to beta.com.

I ExchangePOP3 configured to download mail from the new outer boxes, the provider has not changed.

I changed in Exchange the recipient rule putting beta.com instead of alfa.com. So I set up email addresses in the user profiles of AD, keeping the same mailbox.

The outlook is properly connected to the server using the new e-mail and display the contents of the inbox, even downloading the new incoming mail from the Internet.

I can send and receive mail from the Internet without any problems.

When I try to send an email to a local user as user1@beta.com Exchange answers:
E-mail account does not exist at the organization this message was sent. Check the e-mail address, or contact the recipient directly to find out the correct address.

If I send a user1@domain.local the message is sent and received.

Changing Exchange Servers Default Gateway

Problem:
We have a new ISP and a new firewall device. The old setup was via an ISA Server (also DNS and PDC) with a 10.2 address. Exhange server (10.1 address) currently has its default gateway as 10.2.

Installed Meraki NSA to the new ISP. It is on the same subnet and its interal ip is 10.254. Web browsing is fine on all my clients after changing cliet default gateway to point to the new gateway 10.254. When I change the exchange server's default gateway to 10.254 (and also update the A-Record/Mx Record with the new ISP external address) no mail flows in either direction.

What am I missing/doing wrong?

Can't see all my sent items

I have noticed that I can not see all my sent items from more that one year.
This only applies to my sent items.
Any idea what it can be?

Getting rid of 2 of my 4 exchange servers.

There are 4 Exchange servers running as VMware VMs. An in production 2010 Clientv Access only Exchange server. An in production Client Access, Hub Transpor,t and Mailbox 2010 Exchange Server. A powered off 2003 Web Access Exchange server. A powered off everything else 2003 Exchange server. When I say powered off, I mean they have been powered off since before my employment here. Over a year. I can only assume that the previous IT staff upgraded to 2010 and then powered off the 2003. Perhaps they intended to do something with them later, but they were real bad about making notes.

I'm wanting to get rid of these powered off VMs. What is the best way to proceed? Should I just delete the VMs and clean up active directory. Or should I power them on and attempt to remove exchange. Then remove the VMs from the domain. The in production servers do know of the powered off servers existence.

On Exchange 2003 Sp2 I've configurated ActiveSynch. It works perfectly a part of one user. Fot this user I have a lot of warning in event viewer

This user as Mac with outlook 2011 (With IMAP) and 2 mobile device IPAD and IPHONE using ActiveSync
Microsoft says "This is an occasional timing error caused by not locking the mailbox during use. This can be safely ignored unless these errors occur frequently." but this is not occasional for me, I've a lot of warning. In addition, on Ipad/Iphone there are many mail with wrong receiving date (in Imap are correct)

Moving Exchange from a SBS server

I have client that is running Small Business 2003 Premium and has hit the hard limit on mail storeage. They want to move Exchange from the SBS DC to another server. How hard is this type of migration? They have licenses for the new server (Server 2008R2) and Exchange (2007).

Cannot delete public folders after migration

I have migrated my exchange 2003 to exchange 2010. Mailboxs have been moved, public folders have been moved and I can see the new exchange server is the master.

On the old exchange, 2003, I cannot delete the public folders.

Offline Defragmentation Exchange 2003 Database

Hi all
I am defragmenting my Exchange 2003 SP2 Mailbox Database. Defragmentation stated successfully.
After 5535 seconds it returns an error message saying "Operation Terminated with Error -1014 out of database page buffer.

OS- Windows Server 2003 SP2 x32
Exch- Exchange Server 2003 SP2
Memory 8 GB
Virtual Memory -:
initial Size------- 4096 MB
Maximum Size-- 8000MB

Issues moving emails

Hi

We are still running an exchange 2003 server. We have started having issues where users can't move emails from their inbox to a subfolder within their inbox. The users just keep getting a you do not have sufficient permissions.

I can't see any errors on the exchange server and am unsure where to go from here. Clients are xp machines running outlook 2003 & 2007

Suggestions to upgrade Exchange 2000

Hello Experts,

First time poster here. I'd like to ask for suggestion and "the right way" to upgrade our current Exchange 2000 to 2010 and our AD to 2008 R2.

Here's our setup:
ADC - Windows 2000 SP4
BDC - Windows 2000 SP4 w/ Exchange 2000 SP3 + Post SP3 roll-up patches
Member Servers - (1) File/Print & (1) Application Server
Desktops - 20+ (about 4 still on W2KSP4 the rest are Windows XP w/ Latest SP)

What would be the best scenario (time is not a factor - but accuracy is my goal). A summarize recommendation is much appreciate.

Not receiving external email

Hi,
We have Exchange 2003 installed on Server 2003 on our domain with ISA 2006.

Several days ago i changed both sender and recipient filters and applied it over the SMTP protocol, after couple of hours i noticed we are not receiving any email from outside, i undid my changes and still, i have been looking for few days for what is the problem but useless

i tried telnet with 3 of my friends one in the same city (result are ok) and the two are in UAE and Ukraine (not even pinging)

i tried localecho but i received nothing and when i hit enter i get connection to local host lost

I'm out of the ideas, could someone help me please

Problem of email address when creating new AD user

Dear Experts,

I am facing problem with the email address when I create a new user in AD. I noticed it now today.

Brief description of our setup, it was Win 2000 DC + exchange 2003 on same server, recently I shifted my exchange 2003 to another server of Win 2003 and turned off the exchange services on Win 2000 machine which is a DC also.

From new server email working fine, outgoing, incoming. Now when I create a user in Win 2000 DC , no email address is created for him when I check user properties and exchange general tab

Any tips what to trouble shoot because I want to retire this exchange 2003 on old server and also ultimately Win 2000 DC

XLSX saves as ZIP in OWA

Hi,

We are using Exchange 2003 SP2 Server. One user is using Outlook 2010 as OST option (Sync).

This user sends the files in attachment as XLSX; but when the the receiver while saving it saves as ZIP. I tried the IE 8 Internet Option but it s not working.

File sending in MS office 2010 and received using Office 2010.

Please suggest

free/busy performance and clean old public folders of it

We have an Exchange 2003 Exchange organisation and use Outlook 2010. We have many complaints that the free/busy information is so slow. When opening someones calendar or resource calendar it can take more than a minute before it shows. Also booking a resource, hangs Outlook for like 30 seconds before it is succesfully done!
Are there any tips or things to look at to increase this performance? Outlook /cleanfreebusy works for the clients, works a bit. But what can I do to generate overall performance improvements?
If I look at the Public Folders at the schedule+ free busy folder, there are like 15 subfolders with old administrative groups as well. Folder names like EX:/o=companyname/ou=xxxxx wheren xxxxx is the administrative groups I think. I think, since I am new at this organisation and I am quite new in public folders and free/busy. These look like old inactive administrative groups, since some of them are still in use and others I cannot find. How can I determine whether they still point to an active administrative Exchange group?
Or if I delete them, what could happen? Can I lose data here and can I easily restore this information or even beter, can I rebuild this free/busy information?
