This appears to be happening to just this single user in our 200 user environment. Upon opening Outlook 2007 on a new computer, Outlook successfully auto-configures his account and see's the server. After click ok, Outlook will try open. Down in the system tray it will quickly flash, the exchange server is unavailable and will try to connect when it becomes available again. Right after that, it will say it successfully connected to Exchange and at this point I get:

"Cannot open your default email folders. Microsoft exchange is not available either there are network problems or..... or the Exchange server is down for maintenance..."

In the exchange application log I am seeing: Event ID 9646 (Mapi session max connections) tied to this user and 1 other user....

I have followed a Microsoft article to raise this limit in the registry but still no go.

Again, this happens to any computer we try to set his Exchange account on, Outlook 2003, 2007 it doesn't matter.

Actually the 2003 client has a little extra info at the end of the error pointing to an OU object of some sort.

Any guidance? I've tried a lot of things I've read on the web to no avail. TIA

OK, I'm quite new at creating SSL Certs. I know the easy way would be to purchase a SAN certificate for this, but GoDaddy, my hosting proivder, are doing super cheap standard SSL certs.

Can I configure this using one standard cert for autodiscover.mydomain.com and a separate one for mail.mydomain.com?

If I can, and I do this, how do I go through the new cert wizard on Exchange 2010? Do I tick only Autodiscover on one of them and specify the address for this, and then tick the other webservices and specify the mail.mydomain.com address for these services on the other and then make sure only one hostname is listed on each wizard?

Would this work? Does this even make sense?

My OWA and Activesync both work fine BTW (albeit with cert errors). I just want to get the Autodiscover sorted and be able to use everything without error.

I am kind of nervous to touch the existing environment since there only 1 physical server and if a mistake is made I still have the other two (NEW) to fall back on . Anyone with this experience or any bottlenecks I maybe facing if I were to create this environment? Thanks again.

I have a strange problem.
I have a Sonicwall NSA, behind this appliance I have a (VM) Exchange 2013 server in the normal LAN (and a DC).
I have also a VM that's running in VLAN 12, when I want to connect to the Exchange 2013
server (by mailaddress and password, Autodiscover) then I get a error that it can't
find the address at the addresslist. (from the 3 tests, the first one will pass, the last one gives this error)
But when I start Outlook on a server in the same LAN then it works good.
When I connect external from another place, it connects also and works good.
The Sonicwall creates also automatic loopback NAT rules.
I can also reach the OAB and I can login. OWA works also.
I don't understand why the Outlook connection doesn't work.
(I test it with a few 2008 R2 VM's in different VLANs)

Hello,
I am running Exchange server 2010. I need to make sure that all of our outgoing emails have a "confidentiality disclaimer" at the bottom of each email. I know it can be done through users signature but that means I have to set up 150 users, and then when user leaves and new one set up I have to do it all over again. In the past (before the upgrade from 2003 to 2010) I used GFI email essentials for SPAM control and they had this awesome feature where it would automatically stamp every outgoing email with the any message I want (so I used it for a disclaimer)
is there anyway it can be set up the same way anywhere on Exchange 2010 ?

Thanks
I am following the instructions from Microsoft knowledge base for removing the last legacy server.

I'm finally getting around to finishing up an Exchange 2003 to 2010 upgrade that I did a few months back, but am not 100% clear on the process of removing the public folder replicas from the old server. ALL mailboxes have already been moved to the new Exchange 2010 server for some time now.

A while back, I added the 2010 server as a replication partner for all my public folders, along with the FREE BUSY folders and also the Offline Address Books. All public folders appear to have transferred, item count matches, looks like everything is good.

Now, I'm confused about the next step because of conflicting things that I have read.

At this point do I simply run the MoveAllReplicas.ps1 script from 2010 to finish this up? I have also read about needing to move the PDF folder hierarchy through 2003 ESM first, but that step is left out 50% of the time in most of what I have read.

Any anyone clarify this for me, I'm not understanding the PF folder hierarchy part of whether I need to do anything with that.

I'll try to provide as much detail as possible without information overload. I have Exchange 2007 with update rollup 10 for SP3. Domain prepped successfully and Exchange 2013 installed without any issues. The first problem I ran into was the whole split DNS issue with my SSL. I got the DNS zones all sorted out and that seems to be resolved now. I moved two mailboxes to test. This is where I ran into problems.

I cutover my firewall to the new Ex13 box to test all services before I moved any more mailboxes. OWA, ECP, and Autodiscover all work internally and externally. There were a few issues but I got them all resolved and they all work. I can successfully send outbound mail from my test mailboxes on Ex13 but I cannot get inbound mail to work at all. I have been through everything...event logs, receive connectors, queues, blah blah blah, and I can't find anything. Ex13 by default has the receive connector configured to accept from the internet.....yet no inbound. Finally after burning up my entire weekend troubleshooting this problem I decided to hang it up for now and cut everything back over to the Ex07 server. Much to my surprise, when all of my internal DNS records were updated and my firewall was switched back to direct my smtp traffic to the old exchange server, I was able to finally get email delivered to my test mailboxes on the 2013 server!!!

I also just read a few articles talking about coexisting servers and some things not being supported yet for Exchange 2013. Am I missing something here? Is coexistence the only way to proceed for now? Is there some silly setting somewhere that I'm completely missing? This should be a simple thing. Old server is 10.0.0.5 and new Exchange server is 10.0.0.11. I update all DNS records internally for autodiscover and mail to 10.0.0.11 and cutover port 80, 443, and 25 traffic at the firewall to 10.0.0.11. This isn't rocket science....this should simply work.....right?!?!?!?!

Any input would be appreciated at this point. I can't even begin to count how many Exchange migrations I have done from 5.5 to 2000 to 2003 to 2007 to 2010....but this is my first 2013 Exchange server and it's by far the most frustrating project/migration I've ever done.
