MDT 2012 On Server 2012

Hello,

I�m so confused, I have the problem with the drivers %make% %model%
I�ve tried alot of solution and nothing happen.. still not going right.

So I work with MDT 2012 That installed with ADK plus WDS on Server2012.
Everything work perfect thanks to you Johan videos. but only the drivers i have to figureout.
I Created Folders for My Own Computer I check with command prompt i wrote wmic computersystem get model & also manufacturer.

So i get to the MDT and i create folder called
Windows 7 x64
Inside the Windows 7 x64 i create folder for the %Make% called � Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
And Under Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. I�ve create folder for %Model% called G41M-ES2L
After that i go to the Task Sequence and Create �Set Sequence Variable� and I put In the line
Task Sequence Variable: DriverGroup001
In the Value Line: Windows 7 x64/%make%/%model/

After that I go to the Injecting Driver and i changed to �NOTHING�

And i Update the MDT 2012 SHARE And Boot again and nothing smell like the driver suppose to work, and keeping to the [ 1% Applying Settings installing windows ] with out installing the driver.
So I check another solution to delete all I�ve done, and create another option.

So only i decided to change is to delete the Set Task Sequence

and to go Gather local only and to change it to gather only with data prosess and i put in the line

CustomSettings.ini.

And in the CustomSettings.ini I set command : DriverGroup001=Windows 7 x64/%make%/model%
After that its still going to no ware.

And I saw the Videos and search in google and no luck please help to find a solution

Windows Server 2012 - Domain Local Group not getting members?

Hi,

I have a single forest with 3 subdomains, all Windows 2008R2 functional level and recently I decided to add a Windows Server 2012 (after some lab tests) on the smallest subdomain we had with 2 DC's Windows 2008R2 on that domain.

Since all was going smooth, with the 1st DC after some weeks, I decided to add the 2nd DC and that subdomain, both were fresh installs, by the way.

So that subdomain have now, 2 DC's on Windows Server 2012, but domain functionality level we kept on Windows 2008 R2.

All went, so far good, until we noticed one GPO wasn't working properly, our Restricted Groups GPO that add some users of IT from Service Desk Team.

Odd that only happens on that particular subdomain (when all was fine before introducing this 2 DC's on Windows Server 2012), the others 2 domains have the exact settings and philosophy and still working properly.

Imagine the following scenario:
Domain company.local with following subdomains, hq.company.local, stores.company.local and brand.company.local

On hq.company.local we have the IT group (Global) that belongs ServiceDeskLocalAdmins (Universal)

On each subdomain (all 3) the hq\ServiceDeskLocalAdmins and respective Domain Admins (Global), it's mapped to a DomainLocalAdmins (Local) on each subdomain.

This scenario it's the way that been working all these last years (and best practices nesting groups, i believe), now since we upgraded (fresh installs) the 2 DC's of brand.company.local, it stopped working only on that specific domain.

Appears that brand\DomainLocalAdmins doesn't read/get the members from hq\ServiceDeskLocalAdmins and brand\Domain Admins on the Restricted Groups, while the others subdomains, keeps working fine like before.

If i test the same user membership on 3 subdomains, it goes well on hq and stores subdomain:

The DomainLocalAdmins it's not list there and same goes for others accounts (that output it's from Administrator of Domain).

I could map directly on Restricted Groups GPO directly hq\ServiceDeskLocalAdmins and brand\Domain Admins groups, instead of using brand\DomainLocalAdmins, but before I start rolling more DC's on 2012, I would like to understand, why this is happening?

I want to join my windows 7 computers to the domain, By commandline.

But i dont want to work with NETdom commands because if i suppose to work with NETdom command i will need to install RSAT and i dont want.

i only need a simple commandline.

Join Domain: - Username: - Password:

please help?

I have server 2008 R2 with WDS Role and Everything Install Images,
With answer files, answer files was create by AIK for Windows 7 64x (64bit).

I create new server 2012 with WDS Role too and I create new images and everything, but the answer files not working I have all the time the First Screen,
About the Langauge and when i click NEXT I have to put Credentials that strange
because in the answer file i put Windows Deployment Services .

Ok so I tried to create new answer files and new Images but.. you know i tried alot of options.. maybe I miss something ?

There is problem ? bug? anybody know? service or something? AIK for 2012?

please help its importent and understanding that, I hope is not because 2012 is new, and many bugs in this case are.

Setting Windows Time Server for a WS12 DC

I used c:\>ws32tm /config /manualpeerlist:"nameoftimeserver.com" /syncfromflags:manual /reliable:yes /update

at a command-line on a WS12 DC. When I look at the registry under HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\Par ameters, the "Type" key indicates NT5DS, which, I believe, means that the system will continue to look to itself (i.e. its own internal motherboard clock) for time sync. Since this is the PDC role-holder for the domain, our workstations/servers continue to be a couple of minutes off when compared to the rest of the world.

Is there any harm in changing this to NTP, thus making the system look to the nameoftimeserver.com time server on the Internet?

Windows server 2012 Standard Network discovery - unable to see server

I'm unable to see my Windows Server 2012 in the network from windows 8/7 and linux samba clients.

The server name is "Omega" the server local ip is: "192.168.1.123" i can ping the server, connect via RDP and access shares via "\\192.168.1.123" or "\\Omega"

The server network profile is "private" Network discovery is ON (all related services are enabled, started and configured for automatic startup).
The server workgroup is "WORKGROUP" and the client are in the same workgroup. Netbios is enabled.
The problem occurs either with windows firewall on or off

Microsoft LocalGPO.msi tool doesn't supported on the server 2012.

Offline Win 2012 password reset

3rd Hdd Issue

Hi

Just added a 3rd harddrive to my server, the problem i have is this: disk has not been assigned a drive letter, do i need to format the hdd so the server will assign a drive letter, i have a gb of data on it i dont want to lose it, Tryed to manualy assign a drive letter but all options are greyed out.

Major Patching Issue Windows Server 2012?

I am surprised this hasn't been brought up here and I'm curious what others here think. What we have found is that there is no way to control when your Windows 2012 system will install patches and reboot. In 2008 R2 and earlier, you could set a day/time and the server would patch according to your schedule. This is now taken away and the option is only daily. Anyone else run into this and find any work arounds? We talked to MS about this and apparently we need to move on from WSUS to something more robust.

There are a few articles of people stumped on this if you google it. Apparently I cant post URLs until I made 5 posts.

Group Policy Problems on new install

Hi, Server 2012 has been installed, once i join my computers to the new domain and run gpupdate/force after i crerated the new policy to change the wall paper on systems that connect to my domain, it tells me it was sucesfull (it wasnt as the wall paper didnt change) i then ran gpresult /r to make sure the policy was appyed and yet it says it is, it hasnt thow, the wall paper hasnt changed, i have linked the policy i created to the domain. This is so hard and yet its such a simple task.

if any further information is needed ill update as per request, i would love to get this sorted today ive been at this for sometime now.

Recover (refresh) Server 2012

Can anyone tell me where the option to recover Server 2012 are, can't find any recovery options in control panel.

I have tried booting from the DVD and running Refresh from there but that fails at 1% without giving any explanation as to why it failed.

Should I reinstall over the top of the existing installation?

What I am actually trying to do is to ensure we have a clean 2012 installation in the hope that might fix a number of obscure problems which keep reoccurring but I can't even find a system Refresh option.

Hi, Everyone.

I have question about KMS AND WSUS,

I'vgot Windows Server 2012 With WDS install with Images WIN7 and Office 2010 installed on the image before sysprep so after i dont have any serials activations also in the Windows 7.

So my question is if there is a way to deploy Serials and Activation to the windows and to the Office 2010?

I know there is option but i dont remmber witch.

And i remmber something from the GPO can be possible so if can someone

bring me the best way to deploy that gonna be awesome :)
