Hi ,
We have install Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition , and exchange server Enterprise edition. Now we are having about 500 Users Mailboxes configured on this server. This a main Production Server, now i want to make one replica server for this exchange , so that if suppose my server crash suddenly i can make my replica as primary server and there will be less downtime . So how to make a replica of Exchange . Please Help !! Kathy Last edited by kathy; 17th February 2009 at 09:20.. |

With Exchange 2000 / 2003 you need third party software like DoubleTake to make a replica.
Your other option is restoring the database but that is standard restoration so wouldn't really fit your "less downtime" idea. What specifically do the business want you to achieve and we can make some recommendations

Clustering may be of interest to you. However, that would need a quorum disk for controlling the cluster and shared storage for the Exchange database that both servers have access to.
It could then be setup as a failover Cluster, so if the Exchange server goes down it automatically fails over to the other box. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...EXCHG.65).aspx |

Good point Virtual, I think I read replica differently to you. Depends if kathy is after DB or server redundancy.

Well pointed out Andy. It looks now as if it is DB redundancy and not server.

Also i want to add is 500 users will need to be added in next month . so can any one give me the steps to implement the front end and back end server for my exchange .
