I have close to 20 servers spread out over the US. We're using SonicWALL's to link them together without corporate office. Each server is a DC for each respective location.
All of my servers, except for one, are showing a correct time that's on my main DC at corporate. The server in question shows 14 minutes fast. When I do a NET TIME on the server, it says it's getting time from one of my servers in Texas (which isn't a problem because it's time is correct), however it apparently isn't because it's fast. Now, when I do a NET TIME /SET it reverts to the correct time but switches back to 14 minutes fast within a minute. All of my users at that location are having the same time issues. Normally this wouldn't be a huge deal, but the users are getting time sync errors when trying to access files on servers outside of their physical location, namely my corporate location... One thing I haven't tried is forcing replication. I'm going to try that now and will report back. In the mean time, if any has any clues or knowledge about a fix or a road map for me to fix this, I'd appreciate it! Thanks ya'll! Todd

Replication did it!
Awesome... Just forced replication and the server synced up. Now to figure out why replication is acting like a donkey... thanks, Todd

I love it when I figure stuff out like that...

Check how often your systems are set to replicate and ensure that your VPN's are up and running.
Any events reporting replication problems?? Run a netdiag and dcdiag as well to be sure. |

What time settings are you using?
please type w32tm /dumpreg /subkey: paramneters and repost if setup correctly the system should use any of the DC's to sync it's time. do you use an external (internet) time server to sync the systems? Last edited by Ossian; 18th May 2012 at 10:00.. |

It's worked fine since this last post of mine but one of our locations in Texas has started getting goofy the last day or two.

From post #2 he forced replication and the servers adjusted their time to match the PDC emulator
