How do I change my computer icon to show the servers hostname?

I've no idea why you would set such tweak. You'll need to modify the registry with all it's dangers in it.
You're better off using BGinfo instead.

But oh well, this works on Windows 8 so I suspect it would work on W2k8 R2.

I need this because I dont need any policy to run on my servers in order to acomplish this.

I found this post after digging some more

bginfo isn't a policy, yet it's just a background changer
