Lightbulb reallocate space

Hi ,

My client allocate the full 3 TB space to a single LUN0 so now Is it possible to refetch the space from existing LUN on iscsi storage ? its dell pe2950

Is this anything to do with virtualisation, or is it a hardware issue?

Thanks for your quick reply ,

Actually its iscsi storage configuration problem ...i am new in storage configuration...so is it possible to fetch teh free space from existing LUN and reallocate it to the new LUN.

You would need to destroy the LUN to reallocate the space.

Can you please tell us what your storage actually is as a PE2950 is a server and has no iSCSI capabilities.

Hi ,

we have implement a freenas on this server , so you mean to say we need to remove the lun0 first then only we can create ? Also is it possible for a freenas to support 2 or more lun on storage.

I have no experience with freenas but with our EMC storage we would need to remove the LUNS from the raid group to re-jig them to the sizes we required.

No idea on the others.

Yeah, but with NetApp you can resize it on the fly.
But with Freenas I think you'll need to destroy them and recreate them again.
