Hi all,
So far you've been faultless in helping me out over the last couple of weeks. Not sure if this is possible, however... I've got a number of clients running XP Pro (SP2)... and a SBS 2003 (Standard). The network is configured to cache offline files (i.e. mydocs). One of the clients is a laptop, only has a 20gb HD, and the offline files folder windows\csc absolutely cripples the PC, and within minutes of syncing the HD is full within a few mb's. Long and short, is there a way to limit the offline folder cache, either on the client, or via GPO? Thanks all, have a great weekend. |

To take m80arm's suggestion a stage further, consider making a separate OU in Active Directory for laptops. Thus you could use a group policy for offline folders for desktops which have space and should redirect their folders to the server for backup vs. not having room for offline files on the laptops and therefore have a different group policy applied.
