Hi Guys ..
actually we have problems while the clients download its own images through the network here the specs we have this config Cisco B( ppal Switch)cat4506-192.168.1.46 we have 2 vlans (1-office and 12- floor) in the floor we have 3 switches connected to the cisco B Cisco C - cat6513 , Cisco D - cat4506 Cisco E - cat 4506 the clients need to download software from our servers. The cisco C works faster but the Cisco D and E works slow . we compare the ports configuration and its the same . what we can improbment to make this couple swtches works faster as cisco C.. thanks in advanced |

Of course the 6513 is faster, it has a better supervisor engine and a larger backplane. You can look at the spec sheet on that switch and compare the differences. Are your clients connecting directly to these 3 switches or are their access layer switches behind them? What type of images are they downloading? How large are they? How many are you trying to do at a time? Are you using multicast?

Hi thanks for take your time for see our case
Are your clients connecting directly to these 3 switches - Yes or are their access layer ?? ???? I no understand or what it means switches behind them? NO the clients connect directly to the Cisco switch What type of images are they downloading? what you mean with Kind ?? *.tar files How large are they? among 7 through 20 gb How many are you trying to do at a time? ok we have 7 download server and per server can download 40 at time ... so we have the 6513 and the other 2 switches sharing in the floor but we want to improvement some configuration or connections for make the other 2 4506 switches more faster .. because 5 serves are connected to the 6513 and its download faster the clients that are connected to the cisco C and D but the cisco C download more slow .. .. the rest 2 servers are connected to the cisco D and its download slowly .. I know that it sound so messy sorry if I don't make me explain correctly .. Are you using multicast?I heard this term in the school but i don't remember let me Google but i don't know how or where can we use this option |

You need to look at your link utilization and see what that looks like. Take a look at your cpu and memory on the 4500's to see if its getting high. You could be just over taxing those platforms.
