Default Problem removing server from sites and services

Hello,

I am trying to remove an old dc from the sites and services view. I have seized the roles and the server is now off and all is working well on the other dc's as far as AD is going.

I have tried a metadata cleanup but it fails saying that it doesn't exist, If I try and remove it from the gui it says DSA object cannot be removed.

How can I remove this object?

Many thanks
Simon

Have you tried ADSIEDIT.MSC?

BE CAREFUL though... you can do a LOT of damage by misuse of this tool. It looks deceptively like Active Directory Users and Computers... but it isn't anywhere near that simple...

Not to sure what I am playing with in ADSI Edit. Could someone tell me how I can remove the failed dc after the metadate cleanup failed?

Thanks

I thought it was a little funny that you would post that in the 2000/XP Pro forum.

Have you read through these two articles?
