Default Expand Virtual Server 2005 Disk
Hi all

I want to expand the size of a virtual server disk we have. I've googled but nothing comclusive has returned.

Any help?

Do you have a fixed size or dynamically expanding disk created inside your VHD?

Hi Tony,

If I recall correctly, it can only dynamically expand to the size of the VHD.

So, what you can do is use BART PE to ghost it, recreate the VHD, then lay it back down. It takes some time but it works.

Hi David

Thanks for the tip. I had seen that elsewhere but in the end what i've decided is:

As the server is just a print server and it is the spool directory that fills up causing problems, I will add another VHD and move the spool directory location to that drive.

Yes, that sounds like a smart decision to me! Going through the BART PE / Ghost expansion process is time consuming...
