Dear Friends,
I have one dual processor machine(Dell power edge 2600 Intel xeon) with windows 2000 server SP4 installed. Some few days before the OS does not detect the dual processor and it started showing as single processor. The BIOS shows dual processor. I have tried to update the drive in device manager by changing "standard computer" to acpi multiprocessor pc" the driver was updated but after rebooting I got the error as Stop 0x0000007B Inaccessible boot device. The i reverted the settings using the ERD Disk. Now the OS shows only single processor. Pls help me out to solve this problem skm |

You cannot mix APM and ACPI kernels after install. The rest of the drivers depend on it. Although it should be possible to go from uniproc to multiproc it never gave me any warm feelings. If I were you would bite the bullet and reinstall. Force the kernel (F6) to ACPI multiproc during install if you have to. |
