I need some help changing the passphrase on an inherited Watchguard firewall, due to an administrator leaving. We are holding out with the Watchguard until we are able to purchase a new Cisco ASA 5520, but need to change this password immediately.
The box is a X1000. It is running software version 7.30. I have searched Google up one side and down the other. Watchguard didn't even have anything related to this in their knowledge base. Most instructions say, go to File, then Change Passphrases with in the Policy Manager, but this particular software does not have this piece. Any help would be appreciated. |

If I remember correctly (it's been awhile since I've had to change the password on our X1000) you have to save the config file to the firebox and select the option to save a new flash image, this then should give you the opportunity to change the password.
