Default Global Address Book Update

More of an inquiry than an issue, or maybe it's an issue more than an inquiry.

How long does it take a clients computer to update the global address book?

Example: I added 3 mailboxes on my exchange 2007 box yesterday. Today, those users are not present in the global address book. However, we have had this issue for a while, but every single time the users are evantually populated...it usually takes 24-48 hours to complete this though.

I have even gone to send/recieve and downloaded the address book on my computer and others.

Any ideas?

Up to 48 hours.
The OAB is only updated once a day by default. That can be changed though.
However Outlook only updates the OAB once every 24 hours or when it is restarted. That cannot be changed.

Therefore if you started Outlook at 4.59 am on Monday, then created accounts at 5.00am on Tuesday, then you wouldn't see those updates until Thursday. (OAB updated on Wednesday at 5.00am, Outlook downloads the updates on Thursday morning)

Simon.

Thank you very much. Glad to know that. I can rest easy now.
