Smile Different backup methods for Active Directory.

Hi Guys,

I thought of posing a new topic . Kindly enlighten us how many ways we can take

back of AD in order to reduce the risk of damaging SAMS database.

Your early response will highly appreciable.

Regards,
Pradeep

Default Re: Different backup methods for Active Directory.

There is only one way to back up Active Directory -- a system state backup of the domain controller(s).
The backup frequency will depend on how often your directory changes, but will probably be weekly or more frequently

You need to backup both the SystemState and the System Volume to be covered.

even though this TID talks about different hardware it is relevant on the same Hardware configuration as well, we tested and proofed to be needed and it was confirmed by a PFE.

Look up the page below to find out the backup types and procedures.

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...7048.aspx#ENAA

Read the content carefully you'll learn about backup and restore.

Thanks
