Hi guys,

I am trying to restore a single mailbox / the inbox of a single mailbox using Backup Exec 12.5.

The backup resides locally on the server and not on tape.

Each time, I receive this error:

The job failed with the following error: Cannot restore one or more mailboxes. The database that the mailboxes reside in is dismounted or is not accessible. Ensure that the server is available and that the database is mounted, and then run the job again.

Any ideas how to solve this?

A few questions:

1. Are you restoring the mailbox to the original server and store or are you redirecting it?

2. does the BE logon account have the appropriate permissions and mailbox on the Exchange server? I'm assuming yes, since you're able to backup the store.

3. Was this a mailbox level backup or a store level backup using GRT?

Yes, it has.

I guess store level backup using GRT, since GRT is enabled in the BE options (I am new in the company and still trying to figure some things out )

Btw, I also noticed this error following the log:

Restore- \\XXX\Microsoft Information Store\First Storage Group
V-79-57344-764 - Unable to restore any content for xxx because the Microsoft Exchange database that hosts that mailbox is offline or the mailbox doesn't exist.Seems strange, because the mailbox exists!and it gives this error about just any mailbox I am trying to restore.
