Hi guys.
I have installed an Exchange 2003 Cluster on a Two Node Active /Passive Windows 2003 Cluster.I want to enable the IMAP Service which is disabled by default in Exchange 2003 Server. I enable the IMAP under services and set them to manual on both the nodes.I don,t start the services. I go to Cluster adminstrator.Right click my exchange Virtual Server and create the IMAP4 Virtual Server with Exchange System Attendent as Dependency. I am trying to bring it online.it is flickering coming online going back offline and it fails and the whole exchange group goes offline. I am getting the following event in the event log Event ID=1005 Description:The ISAlive Check for the resource Failed. need your help Regards Imran |

If the service hasn't been started, how is it going to work? Start the service and see what happens.

Did you create the resource just as a Generic service ?
Are you sure you got the service name correct (use the short service name). Trying deleting the resource in Clus admin, then start the service manually, does this start Ok or does it error. If it errors then fix this, and recreate your setup. If it starts then I'm guessing you have put in incorrect parameters or name when setting up the resource. topper.
