Default NDR Event ID: 3030; Status code 5.1.8

I Have WIN Server2003 SP1, Exchange 2003 SP2,

Event:

A non-delivery report with a status code of 5.1.8 was generated for recipient rfc822;Susanne.Zumstein@gi.he (Message-ID <6cfc9.bf0baf563db@sm1.bih.net.ba>).

How can I configure Exchange Server 2003 to block that spam?

In spam messages i get attachments .zip.

Can I block all mails with 'zip' extension in attachment.

Thanks a lot

You can use Exchange antispam:

http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/ev.../overview.mspx

Or/and deploy applications/antivirus with spam filter - Trend viruswall,
e-Safe, Antigen with AV + Anti spam, Trend with AV.

i had same problem with thousands of MSE Routing NDR 3030 errors in my app log - also thousands of messages in my queue folder on hard drive to keep deleting.

found out it was because of anonymous smpt relay. go to properties of your smtp virtual server. i believe it is the acces tab and then click RELAY. make sure the radio button is set to "only those listed below". It doesn't matter if there is nothing listed below - users/computers on your domain will authenticate with your domain and in turn exchange svr. authenticated users will be allowed to send....spammers wont.

running the test at this website helped me figure it out.....

http://www.mail-abuse.com/cgi-bin/lookup

if your server has been relaying spam it is likely that your ip is listed and possible on a blocking list. if so fill out the removal request and they will run a test on you server testing anonymous smpt relay. they will also send you a link to test it yourself.

hope this helps some1
