Default Domain Migration & DNS

I have a working Windows 2008 domain in production. Now we will be moving the user and computer accounts (will not move servers) to a new 2008 domain in a phased manner using the Quest migration tool. The 2-way trust is established.
The IP addresses to the clients are assigned via DHCP and DNS server are pointed to the current (old) working DC. After moving the users/computer accounts to the new domain, can the clients which are part of the new domain use the old DNS servers? How is the name resolution/registration is going to be handled?

Since you mentioned that the two trust is in place, you either already have DNS set up properly, or you created the trust through NetBIOS name resolution.

In any case, in this type of scenario, you would setup Conditional forwarding on the DNS servers in both domains so that you can resolve host names from either side.

Thank You.
What about hostname registration in the DNS zone? Is it getting created whenever a computer account is created in the domain? It can not be handled thru forwarding right?

DNS Host name registration should continue as expected. Computers will send the registration to the DNS server they are configured with. If the DNS server does not have the zone, it will send a referral back to the client to register with the correct DNS server.

That means is it a 100% requirement that the client must use the DNS server which hosts the zone for it's active directory zone? In most cases this will be the DC of the home domain.

How can I handle the scenario with two domains (domain-A and domain-B) with 2-way trust? All the clients are pointed to DNS servers of domain-A. The computer/user accounts will be migrated to domain-B in a phased manner.
