Default Patch Vmware

Hi,
I need to patch our Vmware Vsphere 4.0.0. I do not have any need to do this scheduled or automatically. I am also a newbie. Does someone here know how to start?

Good "vSphere Update Manager"

It's free if you have vCenter. If not, you will have to look into manually updating the host.

Update Manager if you have vCenter Server, you'll have to become friends with "esxupdate" if you don't have vCenter Server - google for "vSphere 4 patch management guide" and review the ESX or ESXi document whichever you are using.
