I mentioned in an earlier post that security researcher Laurent Gaffié found a hole in SMB2. Looks like this has potential to be the next Conficker attack. Or at least that is what people are chalking it up to be. As of right now Microsoft hasn&#8217;t issued any patches, so right now the only way to avoid attack is to turn off file sharing in Vista. People using Windows XP, Windows Server 2008 R2, and Windows 7 shouldn&#8217;t have to worry. More information on SMB2 and instructions to disable it completely can be found here. [...]</description>
