Windows Server 2003 Overview
Windows Server 2003 was released in April 2003, and Windows Server 2003 R2 was released in December 2005. Windows Server 2003 shipped in several editions that Microsoft created to fill specific needs, such as Standard, Web, Enterprise, Datacenter, Compute Cluster Server, and Storage Server editions. Windows Server 2003 was preceded by Windows Server 2000 and followed by Windows Server 2008.
